Mark L. Alderman joined the firm’s Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., offices in April 2009 as a member in the Business Law Department, practicing in the Government Relations Group. Mark concentrates his practice on business matters with an emphasis on issues that involve government relations, including matters involving federal public strategies. He is chairman of Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies LLC, which works with clients to advocate their interests with decision-makers in all branches of local, state, and federal government.
An active and involved member of his community, Mark is or has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institute, the Board of Directors of the NASDAQ Futures Exchange, the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, the Board of Trustees of Thomas Jefferson University, the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation; the Board of Directors of WXPN-FM, the Board of Directors of the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center of Philadelphia; a founding member of the Board of Living Beyond Breast Cancer; and a member of the Board of the American Jewish Committee, Philadelphia Chapter. In addition he has been a member of the Advisory Committee of the Metropolitan Career Center; a national board member of the Global Forum, U.S.; co-chair of CORA Services Capital Campaign; and chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Task Force on Multidisciplinary Partnerships and its Large Firm Management Committee.
Mark earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Brown University and his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as editor of the Law Review. He also served as law clerk to the Hon. Joseph S. Lord, III, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
