Kristi Adair Zentner, of the Business Practice Group, will be speaking at a Minnesota CLE event titled, "Key Cases in Contract Law." The curriculum will refine understanding of significant cases in Minnesota contract law practice. Kristi will be giving a presentation titled, "Contract Formation: Consideration - Every Contract Needs It!" 

Highlights of the event include:

  • Minnesota’s “choice of law” principles and practice tips
  • What constitutes “offer,” what constitutes “acceptance”
  • Analysis of executory contracts in bankruptcy
  • How to properly utilize and navigate an illegality defense
  • How courts determine intent and ambiguity
  • The ability to assign, restrictions, and delegation
  • What is adequate consideration – what if there’s a lack?
  • The creation of conditions – express, implied, precedent and subseque
  • Additional presentations will include the UCC, damages and breach, remedies, statute of frauds, and capacity
