Ken Fisher was quoted in the Crain’s New York Business article titled “Economic Development Corp. will restructure to lobby legally” regarding the Economic Development Corporation’s recent effort to make its attempt at lobbying for changes in land use legislation legal. In the past, the EDC has used illegal lobbying tactics to win approval of projects; however, the EDC will now be split into two entities with one focusing solely on local development corporation efforts. "I'm not offended by what they're doing at all, as long as the wall is clear between what one group can do and what the other can do," said Ken. With regard to the Industrial Development Agency (IDA), which is an independent institution staffed by the EDC and manages city incentives, Ken added, "EDC has a pretty good history of honoring the separation of the IDA and the EDC."
