Philadelphia – January 31, 2022 – Lawdragon has named Brian Shaw and Thomas Horan, members of Cozen O’Connor’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring practice, to its 2022 list of the Top 500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers.

Brian Shaw practices out of Cozen O’Connor’s Chicago office. He focuses on financial restructuring, bankruptcy, and other in- and out-of-court distressed solutions, along with attendant litigation, representing debtors, creditors, and other parties-in-interest in proceedings throughout the country. Shaw has guided Chapter 11 debtors, Chapter 7 and 11 trustees, creditors’ and noteholders’ committees, assignees, landlords, liquidating trustees, labor organizations, preference and fraudulent conveyance defendants, receivers, and secured and unsecured creditors through all aspects of bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring. A fellow at the American College of Bankruptcy, he has served as president of the American Bankruptcy Institute and has also chaired the Chicago Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization Section. Shaw received his law degree (J.D., magna cum laude, 1993) from the University of Illinois College of Law and his undergraduate degree (B.A., cum laude, 1989) from Tufts University.
Thomas Horan is based in Cozen O’Connor’s Wilmington, Del. office. He focuses his practice on financial restructuring and bankruptcy litigation. Horan represents debtors and official unsecured creditors’ committees in complex Chapter 11 proceedings; counsels secured creditors, trustees, unsecured creditors’, and debtor-in-possession lenders; and represents clients in preference and fraudulent transfer proceedings. He is a longtime member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and now serves as Vice President, Communications & Information Technology. Horan earned his law degree (J.D., cum laude 2004) from St. John’s University School of Law and both his M.A. (1992) and his B.A. (1989) degrees from Fordham University.
