WASHINGTON D.C., July 19, 2023 — Jonathon Foglia, a member of the firm’s Transportation and Trade Group, has been named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. The American Bar Foundation fellows are a global honorary society of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and the welfare of their communities. Membership in the fellows is by invitation only and is limited to one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Fellows are nominated by their peers and elected by the board of the American Bar Foundation.
Jonathon counsels clients on a wide range of aviation regulatory and commercial matters. As part of his practice, he represents U.S. and non-U.S. airlines, other aircraft operators and trade associations before federal aviation regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Transportation Security Administration, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Jonathon also acts for respondents in governmental investigations and enforcement and civil penalty proceedings involving alleged violations of various federal aviation-related statutes and regulations. He also co-chairs the firm’s Aviation Industry Team.
Jonathon has consistently been ranked as a leading aviation and regulatory attorney in peer-review publications, including Chambers USA Guide. He serves on the adjunct faculty at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches Aviation Law, and currently is the editor-in-chief for the American Bar Association's Air & Space Lawyer.
