Melinda Levine deLisle is the inaugural director of Pro Bono Engagement for Cozen O’Connor. She connects lawyers with a broad array of pro bono opportunities, supports and advises them in their pro bono work, assists in developing firm pro bono policies and maintains her own pro bono practice. She works extensively with nonprofits, both partnering to represent shared clients and providing legal assistance to the businesses. Partnering with pro bono counsel at other law firms and corporations, she is co-chair of the Law Firm Pro Bono Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association and a member of the Association of Pro Bono Counsel. Melinda also serves on the board of the Philadelphia ACLU.
Melinda was for many years a litigator at major law firms in Chicago, New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, where she maintained a robust pro bono practice focused on reproductive justice, the rights of LGBTQ people and protection of vulnerable women and children. She has been an associate director at the Office of Student Conduct at the University of Pennsylvania, where she conducted investigations and participated in hearings. She has taught law to undergraduates and students at the School of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.
