Alexia concentrates her practice on complex estate, tax, and business succession planning for high net worth individuals and their families. She counsels her clients on sophisticated and tax efficient multi-generational wealth transfer planning as well as testamentary and lifetime charitable planning, including the establishment and administration of private charitable foundations. In addition to assisting executors and trustees in administering estates and trusts, she drafts wills and revocable trusts and other sophisticated estate planning documents, including defective grantor trusts, insurance trusts, and grantor retained annuity trusts.
Alexia serves as co-chair of the firm's Hiring Committee. She also currently serves as a member of the board of directors of The Nichole Canuso Dance Company, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit dance company.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, Alexia served two years as a law clerk to Judge James S. Halpern of the U.S. Tax Court. Alexia earned her LL.M. in taxation, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center and her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, from which she graduated in the top 5 percent of her class. During law school, Alexia served as senior articles editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She earned her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.
