Kathy focuses her practice in securities, corporate finance, and corporate/commercial law. She has extensive transactional experience, assisting clients with a variety of matters such as initial public offerings, private placements, stock exchange listing applications, reverse takeovers, corporate restructurings, corporate governance, and ongoing public company compliance. She believes in practical advice to support her clients' businesses.
Prior to joining the firm, Kathy was a partner in the capital markets and securities group of a Canadian national law firm. Earlier in her career she also worked at the British Columbia Securities Commission and brings valuable experience of involvement in policy initiatives of the Canadian Securities Administrators, which she acquired during time she spent working there.
Kathy earned her bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of British Columbia. Kathy is a frequent speaker for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and is a current instructor for the Simon Fraser University's Continuing Studies Course “Public Companies: Financing, Governance and Compliance.” She is also a member of the TSX Venture Exchange's Local Advisory Committee for Vancouver.
