Chris concentrates his practice on insurance matters, including general liability, catastrophic injury, life, accident, and products liability matters. He has handled cases throughout Texas and the Gulf Coast, as well as nationally and internationally.
His experience includes the representation of foreign and domestic insurers and policyholders in matters involving complex insurance problems or significant potential exposure. He also provides policy interpretation services, evaluation of coverage, advice regarding contractual indemnity, and insurance provisions and litigates disputes if and when they arise. His successful record in post-trial matters and appeals, including preparing and presenting motions, writs, briefs, and, ultimately, oral arguments to the state and federal appellate courts, enables him to offer his clients continuity of representation.
In maritime matters, Chris has experience defending claims involving personal injury, property damage, allision of vessels, collision between vessels, oil spills, collisions, crew-related claims, charterer's liability claims, and cargo loss and damage claims. In premises liability matters, Chris has experience representing property owners and security companies in cases arising from criminal acts committed against business invitees and property residents, as well as industrial, commercial, and drilling work site accidents involving third-party contractors. He has also successfully defended commercial loss, property damage, breach of warranty, and personal injury cases involving chemicals, pharmaceutical and medical devices, food products, industrial machinery, and motor vehicles.
Chris holds a J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston and a B.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.
