When Paul Kermizian, Pete Langway, Kevin Beard and Scott Beard had the idea to combine American craft beer with classic arcade games in a former metal shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Barcade® was born. Cozen O’Connor was involved from the outset, helping the company protect its valuable Barcade® trademarks, handling the company’s initial operating agreement and helping navigate New York City’s myriad regulations, which can leave an emerging company bouncing like a pinball from one red flashing light to another. There are now nine Barcade® locations in six states and Cozen O’Connor continues to advise Barcade®, managing the company’s trademark portfolio and assisting Barcade® in protecting its distinctive trademarks.
