Howard Schweitzer, managing partner of Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies, appeared on CCTV News’ “World Insight” to discuss the transition into a Trump presidency. Howard noted Trump’s cabinet appointees and how their positions may influence their philosophies. “People that have not had the reins of power and have been out there taking various positions are about to have the reins of power and that changes a lot,” he speculated. “They have their ideology but once they’re confronted with the reality of governing I think we’ll see a little bit of a more realistic approach to doing the actual job.” The panel also discussed Republicans’ control of both the Senate and Congress. When asked whether he thought this would make it easier for President Trump to accomplish more of his personal goals for the country, Howard replied, “Well, he’ll have the reins of power in the executive branch and yes he’s got a somewhat friendly Congress but the fact that they’re all of one party isn’t the end of the analysis.” View the full clip here.
