Washington, D.C., August 15, 2022 — Cozen O’Connor today announced that Siran S. Faulders—who served as Virginia’s section chief and senior assistant attorney general for nearly a decade before moving to private practice—has joined its nationally recognized State Attorneys General Group in Washington, D.C. Faulders joins the firm as a member and will once again work alongside Jerry Kilgore, who served as Virginia’s attorney general from 2002 to 2005.
Faulders comes to Cozen O’Connor from a national law firm’s State Attorneys General practice. Known as “a consummate legal diplomat,” she advises and defends clients involved in a wide range of state attorney general enforcement actions and other regulatory matters, including those in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, technology, retail and manufacturing, nonprofit and charitable organizations, and consumer financial credit industries.
“I am absolutely thrilled that Siran is joining our team that will now include six of the most accomplished women state AG practitioners in the country,” said Lori Kalani, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s State Attorneys General Group. “Spending nearly three decades working on state attorney general matters, Siran is recognized as a leading authority on state attorneys general nationwide. She’s well known and highly regarded across the country, especially for her multi-state investigation work and her successful representation of clients in business-critical negotiations.”
“Having worked closely with Siran while I was the Attorney General, I’ve long been impressed with her many accomplishments in the years that followed,” added Kilgore. “In short order, she was able to build on her sound judgment, public sector experience and relationships in developing successful strategies to resolve complex and challenging issues. She’s a terrific addition to our Group, and I’m very much looking forward to working with her again.”
Bernard Nash, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s State Attorneys General Group, added: “I am proud that we continue to expand our team with outstanding nationally recognized state attorney general practitioners.”
Recognized by Chambers USA, State Attorneys General, USA Nationwide (2021-2022), Best Lawyers in America®: Education Law (2009-2022); and Lawyer of the Year: Education Law (2022), Faulders is known for her ability to identify critical issues and negotiate solutions that allow parties to settle even the most complex multistate investigations, including some of the largest data breach investigations in US history.
“I’ve witnessed Cozen O’Connor’s State Attorneys General practitioners’ work and the stellar reputation they have,” Faulders said. “I’m also impressed by the firm’s strong commitment to giving talented women the opportunity to take a leadership role in a growing, national law firm. I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues.”
