Noelle Engle-Hardy, a member of Cozen O'Connor’s Intellectual Property Department, has been recognized by the International Trademark Association (INTA) as a High-Performing Committee Member. Noelle is the sole Canadian lawyer on INTA’s U.S. Amicus sub-committee and is recognized by her committee chair on behalf of her instrumental efforts in monitoring intellectual property case law developments in Canada. In 2022, Noelle acted as counsel on behalf of INTA in a motion before the Ontario Court of Justice seeking intervener status in the appeal of an interlocutory injunction issued by the Ontario Superior Court in Ontario Inc. v Bhagwani, 2022. That interlocutory injunction was overturned by the Ontario Divisional Court in a decision consistent with the positions advocated by INTA.
In 2022, INTA launched a new initiative to identify and celebrate high-performing committee members. This program empowers committee chairs and vice chairs to recognize and give visibility to high-performing committee members who advance committee work throughout the committee term. This is the first iteration of the Recognition of High-Performing Committee Members Program.
Noelle’s practice focuses on intellectual property disputes and litigation in a variety of industries, including consumer packaged goods, sporting goods, videogames, alcohol, food and beverage products, luxury goods, professional sports, pharmaceuticals, furniture and lighting, clothing and cosmetics, cannabis, casino and real estate development, franchise, and fine art. Noelle has experience at all stages of litigation, from obtaining Anton Piller Orders and interlocutory injunctive relief to successfully arguing multiple appeals before the Federal Court of Appeal.
