Vijay is a seasoned litigator focusing his practice on complex commercial litigation. He has successfully conducted more than 20 jury trials to verdict and has taken over 40 depositions in products liability, breach of contract disputes, hospitality litigation, multi-district federal litigation matters, medical malpractice actions, and mass torts.
Every client has specific needs that require a certain acumen. Throughout his years of practice, Vijay has developed a successful holistic approach for clients that involves a combination of humanistic traits and legal skills to solve any issue.
Prior to joining Cozen O'Connor, Vijay worked for federal and state judges, as a prosecutor for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, and at national firms. Most recently, as a trial attorney with an NLJ 500 firm, Vijay primarily represented local municipalities in inverse condemnation actions, wrongful death lawsuits, primary disputes, and constitutional issues. As a litigation associate with another Am Law 100 firm, Vijay defended professionals and hospitals in mass tort, product liability, medical malpractice claims, breach of contract disputes, negligence, and general commercial litigation. Earlier in his career, he defended insurer clients in state and federal court against premises liability claims.
Vijay earned his B.A. in psychology from the University of Southern California and his J.D., cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Indiana Health Law Review. During law school, he was a judicial extern with the Honorable Otis D. Wright II of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He is a fluent speaker of both Gujarati and Hindi.
