Guy focuses his practice on subrogation and recovery. He has extensive experience investigating and litigating large, catastrophic casualty, property loss, and business interruption claims in both state and federal court on behalf of many national insurance companies. He has litigated numerous cases and secured many favorable recoveries before juries, judges, and arbitration panels, as well as in mediation. He is adept at fashioning creative theories of liability and using the firm’s extensive expert database to thoroughly investigate and successfully pursue subrogation recoveries from inception through trial. Guy always aims to secure favorable outcomes for his clients in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Guy received his Bachelor of Arts in history from Marshall University in 1995. He also earned a Master of Arts in history from Marshall University in 1998. In 2001, he earned his law degree, cum laude, from New York Law School where he served as executive notes and comments editor of the Journal of International and Comparative Law. He is admitted to practice before the courts of the state of New York as well as before the Eastern and Southern District Courts of New York. Guy is also admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales having become qualified and admitted to the bar in the United Kingdom in 2012.

In addition to his busy litigation practice, Guy also has extensive experience representing professional athletes. He has reviewed and negotiated dozens of Standard Player Agreements in Major League Soccer, the United Soccer Leagues and in various European leagues and regularly negotiates with sporting directors, technical directors, and coaches of professional soccer clubs in both the United States and Europe. A former NCAA D1 soccer player, Guy also holds the FIFA agent license as required by the FIFA football Agent Regulations (FIFA License ID #202406-7112).

Represented the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Soccer Club in connection with obtaining a P-1 visa for a player from Ghana.

Secured a global settlement on a property subrogation claim we handled for approximately a dozen carriers in a case flowing from a 2021 water loss at New York City’s 3 WTC building caused by the internal failure of a copper water line installed within a new HVAC condenser unit which was manufactured by one defendant and installed by another. The settlement represents a recovery of approximately 85 percent of the replacement cost value of the claim.
