We are just over halfway through 2024, and there is already much to discuss, both on the national and state level. Federal agencies have been busy with new regulations, including the Department of Labor’s revised overtime rule, the EEOC’s Pregnant Workers Fairness Act regulations, OSHA’s proposed rule on heat injury and illness prevention in outdoor and indoor work settings, the FTC ban on noncompete agreements, and the NLRB’s position on independent contractors. We will also take a look at new state legislation, such as California’s statute that requires employers to adopt workplace violence prevention plans, Colorado’s new biometrics law, Louisiana’s statute limiting the use of nondisclosure agreements, and New York’s statute mandating paid lactation breaks and prenatal leave. Join us for a webinar where we will provide an overview of 2024 year to date and forecast what to expect in the second half of the year.
