Cozen O’Connor Attorneys Participate In PBI Divorce Law Course

Cozen O'Connor members Jennifer A. Brandt and Thomas G. Wilkinson recently participated in the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's course ''Dealing with Dirty Tricks in Divorce,'' which was presented in Philadelphia, Mechanicsburg and Pittsburgh. Jennifer served as the course planner and moderator and Tom was a panelist in Philadelphia. The course was designed to assist family law practitioners when they are faced with dirty tricks in the areas of finance and reputation, and in divorce proceedings in general.


Jennifer serves as a family law expert on numerous media programs, including KYW Newsradio; WPVI, WCAU and KYW television in Philadelphia; CN8 The Comcast Network; CNN; MSNBC; TruTV; and Fox News. She has been quoted in Main Line Today magazine and The National Law Journal. She has also served as a course instructor at Haverford Township Adult School and at Main Line School Night for Adult Learners.

Jennifer was named as one of American Lawyer Media’s 2004 "Lawyers on the Fast Track" and served as a judge for the 2005 "Lawyers on the Fast Track" competition. She was also named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer – Rising Star in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Jennifer is a member of the family law sections of the American, New Jersey State, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Camden County bar associations. She is currently a member of the programming committee for the Pennsylvania Bar Association family law section. She is former chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s membership committee, a former member of its executive committee and previously served as editor of the family law section newsletter. She was a member of the Thomas J. Forkin American Inn of Court in Family Law.

A resident of Wynnewood, Pa., Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University (B.A., with highest honors, 1991) and her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 1994), where she was senior editor of the Journal of International Business Law and an Arthur Littleton Fellowship Instructor in legal research and writing. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.

Tom practices in the Philadelphia office and is a member of the commercial litigation department. He concentrates his practice in business litigation, business torts, complex insurance coverage, and professional responsibility matters. He is a frequent lecturer and author on civil litigation and professional responsibility topics and is the editor of the Pennsylvania Ethics Handbook, a comprehensive review of the rules of conduct governing lawyers, with extensive citations to case decisions and ethics opinions addressing all aspects of lawyer-client relationships. He is also an adjunct professor at Villanova University School of Law and the Membership Chair for its Inn of Court.

A resident of Haverford, Pa., Tom is president of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, co-chair of the State Civil Litigation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and recently completed a three-year term on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Tom is a graduate of Villanova University Law School (J.D., 1981), where he was managing editor of the Villanova Law Review. He served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, and before the U.S. Supreme Court and in the Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third and Fourth Circuits, as well as on motion in numerous state courts.
