Anna Wermuth, vice chair of Cozen O'Connor's Labor & Employment department, was quoted in a recent Sports Illustrated article regarding the Northwestern Football teams attempt to unionize last year. When announcing the union, Kain Colter, former Northwestern football player, had tried to be clear that his issue was primarily with the NCAA, not with Northwestern. But only by taking on Northwestern could he take on the NCAA, which created a more ambiguous situation. Anna, who represents Northwestern, noted that Pat Fitzgerald, Colter's coach, had created a Leadership Council to give players some voice in team rules.
