PHILADELPHIA, July 7, 2020 — Cozen O’Connor labor and employment attorneys Thomas Giotto and Anna Wermuth have been elected fellows in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
This distinguished honor recognizes attorneys with sustained outstanding performance in the legal profession, and who also exemplify integrity, dedication, and excellence.
“Being selected as a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a distinct honor for a labor and employment practitioner,” said Joe Tilson, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s national Labor & Employment Department and a longtime fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. “This prestigious distinction further underscores Anna and Tom’s unparalleled legal skills and their unwavering dedication to their clients and the legal community both in their hometowns of Chicago and Pittsburgh and nationwide.”
Giotto, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s national Labor & Employment Department, helped launch a new, full-service Pittsburgh office when he joined Cozen O’Connor in 2017. He has been instrumental in rapidly growing that office from three to 33 attorneys and in helping to expand the firm’s national labor and employment practice to more than 80 attorneys across the country.
He concentrates his practice on representing management in many aspects of labor, employment, and employment-related litigation including representing employers during union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, and grievance arbitrations. Giotto was named Best Lawyers’ 2013 and 2018 Pittsburgh Employment Law – Management “Lawyer of the Year.” He has also been consistently recognized as one of the top labor law attorneys by Chambers USA, Chambers Global, and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.
Wermuth has also been an integral force in growing Cozen O’Connor’s national L&E practice in her role as vice-chair of the firm’s national Labor & Employment Department. She represents management in labor and employment litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies such as the EEOC, the Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board. Over the past decade, Wermuth has also become a “go to” legal resource for the higher education industry representing colleges and universities in faculty, staff, and student litigation.
In addition, she has been consistently named as one of the top labor and employment attorneys by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, and LawDragon. Wermuth is also an active member of the American Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section, where she has held numerous leadership positions. Currently, she serves as the management vice-chair for the ABA Labor & Employment Law Section’s National Trial Advocacy Competition.
