PHILADELPHIA, November 5, 2021 — Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that Matthew Siegel, member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department, has been named the Support Center for Child Advocates Volunteer of the Month. Child Advocates provides legal assistance and social service advocacy to children who have experienced abuse or neglect in Philadelphia County. Since its founding in 1977, Child Advocates has trained more than 10,000 attorneys who contribute pro bono services valued at more than $5 million annually. Child Advocates is one of the most successful volunteer models serving children in the country.
Siegel, who believes lawyers have an obligation to serve the needs of the community, has been a volunteer attorney since 2000, and is a former vice president of the board of the Support Center for Child Advocates. He also serves as chair of the firm’s child advocacy practice group and handles several cases for Child Advocates. He has lectured at the center’s training program , co-chairs the agency’s volunteer committee, and was named one of its Distinguished Advocates. Siegel is also a former member of the board of directors of the Jewish Relief Agency, a nonprofit agency that provides food relief to thousands of local citizens in need.
