Ian Blum was quoted in Law 360 discussing the new director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Kathi Vidal. After a 15-month vacancy in the post, Vidal will have a 30-month term to tackle the Office's mounting issues. Ian shared that Vidal's first-hand knowledge of how patent eligibility disputes play out in litigation gives her a unique perspective on how the USPTO should issue guidance. "We as attorneys need a lot of clarification on how the patent office is going to be handling 101 issues," he said. "It'll be interesting to see what she will bring to the table as a litigator."
