PHILADELPHIA — City & State Pennsylvania named Kathy Jaffari to its inaugural Pennsylvania Impact 50 list, a “select group of people who exemplify what it means to be socially responsible citizens.” The list includes leaders in business, government, nonprofits, and advocacy, who, through their dedication and good works, will guide Pennsylvania through the many challenges it is facing. Jaffari, who ranked sixth on the list, was recognized for her work in ESG (environmental, social and governance). Jaffari co-chairs the ESG practice at Cozen O'Connor as well as the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section’s ESG subcommittee. She is also co-editor of the ABA publication ESG in the Boardroom, A Guidebook for Directors. The book serves as a guide to help directors better understand the role they play in overseeing ESG issues for their organizations. She was recently elected vice chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association and will serve as such in 2023, chancellor-elect in 2024 and chancellor in 2025. She also serves on the alumni leadership council of Temple University’s Center for Ethics, Diversity and Workplace Culture.
Jaffari, who is also chair of the firm’s Corporate Governance Practice and co-chair of the Capital Markets & Securities Practice, devotes her practice to advising boards of directors and executive management teams and handling complex securities transactions for businesses in a variety of industries, including life sciences, energy, and technology. With more than 25 years’ experience representing public and private companies, Jaffari has served as outside corporate counsel and has advised on the full panoply of corporate and securities law aspects of a wide range of matters. She also has as extensive experience in compliance matters and mergers and acquisitions, including ongoing business counseling.
