CHICAGO, May 11, 2023 — Stephen P. Pate, member of the Global Insurance Department, has been named secretary-treasurer of the prestigious American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC) at the 2023 Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Stephen will become president-elect in 2024 and will serve as president in 2025. Stephen is a founding member of the ACCC and most recently served as a member of ACCC’s Board of Regents and has served on the Membership Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee. He is a 2018 recipient of the ACCC’s Tom Segalla Service Award.
Stephen’s insurance practice focuses on representing carriers in a variety of insurance coverage disputes including first party property insurance disputes, bad faith issues, CGL matters, and insurance regulatory matters. He is a frequent author and speaker. He is also a member of the American Law Institute and an advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Established in 2012, the American College of Coverage Counsel is composed of preeminent coverage counsel in the United States and Canada, representing the interests of both insurers and policyholders. The College is focused on the creative, ethical, and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes, peer-provided scholarship, law student outreach, and the improvement of the relationship between and among its diverse members.
