Michael Osborne was quoted in a Toronto Star article discussing Rogers Communications and Shaw Communications’ victory at the Federal Court of Appeal, which upheld a ruling in favor of their merger. “It is a total annihilation of the (Competition Bureau’s) case on appeal,” said Michael. “The Minister has run out of excuses. It’s time for him to make a decision. I think he has only one decision open to him, and that’s to approve the spectrum transfer.” He added that the tribunal’s decision, confirmed by the Federal Court of Appeal, was clear that the transactions “would actually increase competition.”
