Stuart Shorenstein, member and managing director of New York Public Strategies, has been named to the 2023 NYC Power 100 by City & State New York. This prestigious list recognizes elected officials, political appointees, lobbyists, journalists, nonprofit leaders and advocates, business executives, federal and state prosecutors, and union presidents – all of whom who are “shaping politics and policies across the city’s five boroughs” and who are “the leaders of the center of the universe.”
Among other impressive leaders, the 2023 list includes Eric Adams – New York City mayor, Kathy Hochul – New York’s first female governor, Chuck Schumer – U.S. Senate majority leader, Hakeem Jeffries – the new House minority leader and first Black conference leader, Letitia James – New York State Attorney General, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes – “the world’s most famous member of Congress.”
City & State New York refers to Stuart as someone who “is carrying on the legacy of Hyman Schorenstein, who became Brooklyn’s first Jewish Democratic boss in 1919” and a practice group leader who “helped foster the next generation of legal lobbyists, Rose Christ and Katie Schwab, who have since taken over the firm’s New York and Albany practice.”
