David Tabak’s and Meyer Lebovits’ Big Borough Park Project Nabs Approvals

Ken Fisher was quoted in The Real Deal’s article regarding Brooklyn Yards, a 14-building, 270-unit development that will be constructed on top of a freight rail line. The project, led by developers David Tabak and Meyer Lebovits, was approved by the City Council’s zoning subcommittee and is essentially guaranteed approval from the Land Use Committee and the full City Council, with the final obstacle being financing.

Building over a rail line, which will serve as a route for the Interborough Express, is a first in the area. Ken, the project’s land use attorney, said, “Because the housing shortage is so severe, they are looking for non-traditional places to build and non-traditional ways to build.”
