Trump Revokes Fed. Contractor Wage Order That Led To Suits

Eric Leonard, co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracts practice, was quoted in a Law360 article discussing President Donald Trump’s rescission of Joe Biden’s Executive Order 14026, which increases the federal wage for federal contract workers. The DOL's recent filings in the Fifth and Ninth circuits still appear to continue to back the Biden-era position. According to Eric, there appeared to be a tension between the DOL's defending the rule in court as recently as Thursday and its rescission of the underlying order a day later. "It's a tricky situation now for the Trump DOL and the Trump lawyers defending some of the cases," said Eric. "You do have this interim period where the EO has been rescinded, but the rule is still in place."
