Vivien Krieger has joined the board of directors of Plus Pool (+ POOL), a city and state-wide organization that aims to provide free and safe access to swimming in New York City’s East River. The initiative will create a plus-shaped floating pool in the river and filter bacteria and contaminants in the water through the walls of the pool to ensure a safe swimming environment. The four quadrants of the pool will be divided into a kid’s pool, sports pool, lap pool, and lounge pool, and can be completely opened into a 9,000-square-foot space. In August 2024, Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams announced Pier 35 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan as the site of New York’s first + POOL.
