NYC Brokers’ Fees to Remain in Place Until at Least June

Leni Cummins is quoted in the Commercial Observer on the Attorney General’s granted request to extend the deadline to respond to the real estate industry’s lawsuit against the brokers’ fee ban in New York. The lawsuit was filed by real estate industry groups in February in response to the  New York Department of  State’s (DOS) issued guidance which prevents landlords from charging tenants for broker fees. A temporary restraining order was issued as a result of the lawsuit. 
“It’s more likely than not that the petitioners will be successful and that the DOS guidance will fail,” said Leni.
