Next week, the NCAA's Board of Governors will receive recommendations for new rules and structures for regulating college sports. Ahead of the meeting, Cozen O'Connor's Stephen Miller argues in Sports Law Expert that the Association’s focus should be on preserving only those restrictions on amateurism that are necessary for fair, competitive play on the field. When prioritizing which NIL payments to regulate, Stephen further says, the NCAA should not object to payments that incentivize behavior consistent with the team’s competitive interests.
