Terence H. De Marzo

Associate

Terence handles subrogation matters. He has experience litigating multimillion-dollar losses in state and federal court, conducting depositions, mediations, and court appearances, and drafting motions and briefs. He has recovered millions of dollars through negotiation and litigation in various subrogation matters, including but not limited to cyber and fidelity claims, property claims, auto claims, No-Fault claims, product defect claims, and fine art losses.

Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, Terence spent more than five years as an attorney and senior claims analyst with one of the world’s largest insurance companies. As a recovery examiner, he concentrated on cyber subrogation for North American financial lines, managing recovery counsel for multimillion-dollar cyber and fidelity claims from the inception of the loss process until the conclusion. In this role, he leveraged his background in litigation as in-house counsel to support and manage litigated and non-litigated claims to strengthen recovery efforts. Before that, he spent a decade in New York-based firms litigating subrogation cases, including representing clients in several large losses in excess of ten million dollars and trying several cases to verdict.

Terence earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Miami. He holds insurance adjuster licenses in 16 states across the United States.
