Ian concentrates his practice on commercial litigation.

Most recently, Ian was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), serving as a federal prosecutor in the special victim investigation and prosecution unit in Okinawa, Japan. In this role, he first chaired felony and misdemeanor-level federal crimes and directed key investigatory steps with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). Before that, he served as a Deputy Legal Advisor, where he instructed joint-service commands on the rules of engagement, use of force, and the U.N. Conventions on the Law of the Sea.

Before joining the USMC, Ian was an associate with a boutique law firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he represented businesses in commercial civil litigation and served as second chair for civil jury trials and countersuit mediation.

Ian earned his B.S. from Allegheny College, his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and attended USMC Officer Candidates School and Naval Criminal Justice School. During law school, Ian interned the Honorable Justice Jacqueline Shogan of the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
