Andrew is co-chair of the firm's Canadian Capital Markets & Securities Practice. He concentrates his practice on IPOs, public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures in a range of global industries, including technology, life science, mining, and oil and gas. He also represents issuers based in Canada, the United States, and around the globe looking to access Canadian capital market opportunities and list on the Toronto Stock Exchange or the TSX Venture Exchange. He also advises leading Canadian investment banks on domestic and cross-border public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and securities law matters.
As part of his practice, Andrew advises public companies on corporate and securities law matters, including continuous disclosure obligations and other regulatory compliance issues. His international practice includes representing clients in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. To further his securities and capital market experience, Andrew was seconded to the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission in 2009.
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a partner with a full-service business law firm in Toronto, where he was the chair of the securities and capital markets group. Before that, he was a partner with a large international law firm. Andrew earned his LL.B at Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Civil Law degree at Université de Montréal.
