Lauren Freeman

Associate

Lauren is a thorough and resourceful associate in Cozen O'Connor's litigation department. Before joining the firm as an associate, she participated in Cozen O'Connor's summer associate program in 2022. She also served as a legal extern for the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Philadelphia and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Cheryl Ann Krause, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Lauren earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University's Beasley School of Law, where she was a staff editor for the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal and earned a certificate in trial advocacy. She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Pennsylvania State University's Schreyer Honors College, where she was a member of the Paterno Fellows Program.

US Supreme Court Examines Double-Jeopardy Impact of 'Repugnant' Verdicts

Stephen Miller, a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation group, and Lauren Freeman, an associate of the Litigation department, authored an article in The Legal Intelligencer discussing the upcoming Supreme Court ruling in McElrath v. Georgia, where the high court will decide whether the double jeopardy clause bars retrial of a defendant who was both convicted and acquitted in an inconsistent or “repugnant” verdict.
