Taranae is a defense litigator with a practice focused on commercial liability, construction defect, professional liability, labor law, and premises liability litigation. She has experience drafting and arguing motions, leading and defending depositions, acting as monitoring trial counsel at client request, and representing clients in mediation, settlement conferences, and meet and confers. She has argued on dispositive issues before the Appellate Division, First Department.
Prior to joining the firm, Taranae was of counsel at a New York City law firm. She also worked as an associate at law firms located in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. She managed cases involving commercial liability, premises liability, complex construction, construction defect, automobile, and wrongful death from inception to resolution. After law school, Taranae was a law clerk for the New Jersey Judiciary, Justice Lee A. Solomon and The Honorable Francis J. Orlando. While a law clerk, she reviewed, researched, and advised the court on a variety of complex discovery, procedural, and dispositive motions, inclusive of drafting judicial opinions on cases of first impression.
Taranae earned her bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. While in law school, she was a clinic intern who represented asylum seekers in U.S. Immigration Court, was part of a mentoring program and was involved in the land use & environmental law club. She also served as aide to the governor in the Office of the Governor and Department of Treasury for the State of New Jersey and as a law clerk at the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New Jersey. Taranae is a certified arbitrator.
