Edwin is an accomplished attorney in the Global Insurance Department, with a focus on complex litigation. He provides comprehensive legal counsel, including developing case strategies, conducting discovery, interviewing witnesses, consulting with experts, taking depositions, and drafting and arguing dispositive motions. His diverse experience across both the legal and corporate sectors gives him a unique perspective to effectively address multifaceted legal challenges.
Before joining the firm, Edwin held executive leadership roles at a publicly traded South Korean company specializing in groundbreaking treatments for cancers and autoimmune diseases. As Chief Financial Officer, he oversaw operations, corporate governance, compliance, fundraising, and investor relations, while leading numerous international collaborations across North America, Asia, and Europe. He also headed the company’s legal team, managing corporate contracts, agreements, and a substantial intellectual property portfolio. In addition, Edwin served as CEO of two company subsidiaries: one based in California and another in South Korea. In these roles, he established governance structures, secured seed and Series A funding, and drove strategic growth initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Edwin was a senior associate at a prominent New York City law firm, representing major area hospitals in all phases medical malpractice litigation.
Edwin began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn. In this role, he investigated, prosecuted, and went to trial in a wide range of felony matters, including violent crimes, narcotics, fraud, and financial offenses.
