Sean O'Mahoney

Sean primarily concentrates his practice on complex tort litigation involving matters of high-risk and high exposure. He defends clients in claims including construction defect, construction casualty, toxic tort, products liability, premises liability, and professional negligence. He has experience representing companies in all stages of litigation and arbitration and also counsels his clients on patient safety, risk reduction, and risk management.

Before joining Cozen O'Connor, Sean was a partner in a regional firm's long term care practice group, where he represented nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and personal care homes in professional negligence matters. Before that, he was a senior associate in the civil rights and municipal liability practice group of another firm, where he represented doctors, psychiatrists, health care facilities, and emergency responders in medical malpractice and professional negligence matters, municipalities and law enforcement agencies in civil rights and municipal liability matters, and religious and educational institutions in sexual assault cases.

Sean earned his joint J.D./M.S. in criminal justice, cum laude, from Roger Williams University and School of Law. During law school, he represented low-income clients facing misdemeanor charges at the Roger Williams University Criminal Defense Clinic and interned for the Honorable Brian Van Couyghen, Kent County Superior Court, in Warwick, Rhode Island.
