Jenifer represents and counsels numerous national insurance companies concerning structured settlements and annuities. She represents her clients in litigation involving complex issues related to structured settlements and annuities throughout the country.
Jenifer’s experience includes the representation of annuity owners and issuers in a wide variety of matters, including litigation avoidance/pre-litigation issues and litigation relating to annuities, product development, attempted assignments of annuity payment rights, third-party garnishments, interpleader claims, beneficiary disputes, tax issues, estate issues, commutations, workers’ compensation issues, bankruptcy issues, child support issues, special needs trusts and Medicare set-asides, overpayment recovery and general business and strategic advice.
Jenifer also advises insurers on payment obligations and liability issues arising out of the administration of annuities and litigates these matters on their behalf throughout the country. Jenifer has assisted in the development of and currently manages commutation programs for a number of large national insurance companies. She has appeared and successfully litigated matters in state and federal courts in California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and West Virginia.
Jenifer is part of the team of lawyers serving as counsel to the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA), is a member of the NSSTA Legal Committee, and speaks on structured settlement issues nationwide.
Jenifer served as a law clerk to the Honorable E. David Millard, J.S.C., of the Superior Court of New Jersey. She earned her undergraduate degree from American University. Jenifer earned her law degree from Widener University School of Law.
