Hayden concentrates his practice on corporate and securities law, focusing on cross-border (U.S.-Canada) M&A and financial transactions.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, Hayden articled at a full-service business law firm in Toronto. There, he gained extensive experience drafting commercial agreements, disclosure schedules, NDAs, and other corporate documents. He also acquired significant experience in securities law and capital markets transactions, participating in numerous IPOs and RTOs.
Hayden holds an LL.M. from Harvard University, where he served as the editor of the Harvard International Law Journal and vice president of several student organizations, including the Harvard Law School Blockchain and Fintech Initiative and the Harvard Law School China Law Association. He obtained his J.D. and Master of Information degrees from the University of Toronto, where he was a research assistant with the Artificial Intelligence for Justice Lab. Hayden also holds a B.B.A. from China University of Political Science and Law, where he graduated first in his class and served as a criminal law clerk with the High People’s Court in Changsha, China. During his time there, he was awarded the National Scholarship twice.
In addition to his legal qualifications, Hayden is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Hayden is bilingual in Mandarin and English.
