Cozen O’Connor Member Evan Caplan Honored by Legal Clinic for the Disabled

Cozen O’Connor member Evan Caplan has been selected to receive a White Hat Award from the Legal Clinic for the Disabled. The White Hat Award is presented annually to individuals who have done outstanding volunteer work on behalf of the clinic. Since 2004, Caplan has represented physically and mentally disabled pro bono clients in large and small matters.

The Legal Clinic for the Disabled provides free legal services to low-income people with physical disabilities in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania. Attorneys provide pro bono guidance on a range of topics, including general legal assistance, violence prevention and intervention, legal services for the deaf, community outreach and education, children’s health initiatives, and law and health initiatives for cancer survivors. The services the clinic provides help clients overcome legal problems and continue living comfortably and independently in the community.

A member in the Philadelphia office, Caplan practices with the Insurance Department. He focuses his practice on product liability and aviation. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers.

Caplan is a graduate of the University of Delaware (B.A., 1995) and Rutgers University School of Law at Camden (J.D., 1998), where he served as articles editor of Rutgers Law Journal.
