Thomas Casparian, a member of the firm’s commercial litigation department, was recently quoted in a Law360 article that discussed manufactured housing. Tom commented on the current state and local rules governing rent control and other activities in California and around the country that hinder the widespread adoption of manufactured housing. “While they are a hybrid of rental and ownership housing stock, MHCs provide hundreds of thousands of people their first step into homeownership," said Tom ."To sustain and increase this valuable form of affordable housing, cities and states need to start providing incentives for new MHC development, as well as a more fair and reasonable system of stabilizing rents that will financially allow park owners to maintain the aging infrastructure of older communities and attract new investment."
