WASHINGTON D.C. - April 2, 2024 – Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies (CPS), the government and public affairs affiliate of international law firm Cozen O’Connor, today announced Tamara Hinton has signed on to lead its fast-growing strategic communications practice. Hinton is a trusted strategist and adviser with extensive experience in high-stakes issues management, crisis mitigation, policy communications, and reputation management. She joins as senior principal and will be based in the organization’s Washington, D.C., office.
Hinton most recently served as senior vice president at Story Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based public affairs agency, developing and implementing multi-faceted communications strategies to manage complex issues, litigation, and media scrutiny to minimize risk to clients across various industries.

Previously, Hinton founded a boutique public relations firm to drive attention to important farm and trade policy issues in the lead up to the 2018 Farm Bill reauthorization. She developed successful communications and digital media campaigns for an agriculture coalition and a number of trade associations.
Prior to that, she worked on Capitol Hill as the communications director for the chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, Rep. Frank Lucas, and his predecessor, Rep. Bob Goodlatte. In this role, she executed the communications strategy for the reauthorization of the 2014 Farm Bill, and managed messaging campaigns to support committee efforts.
She joined the committee after working as a reporter for WVIR-NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia where she covered important national stories, including the Virginia Tech shootings in 2007, the five-year anniversary of 9/11 in New York City, and the midterm elections in 2006.

Hinton earned her dual B.A. in economics and history at the University of Mary Washington.
