Leni Cummins was quoted in a New York Times “Ask Real Estate” article responding to a question regarding co-ops banning electronic bicycles and residents requesting accommodation under the Fair Housing Act.
Electronic bicycles pose deadly fire hazards, and a case against the co-op may be weak without key elements required of a housing discrimination case. “The board cannot ignore your request,” said Leni. “But they don’t have to offer you an accommodation.”
