Sereena focuses her practice on assisting condominium and cooperative boards with reviewing governing building documents and answering client questions regarding governance and building operations. She also has experience handling disputes between boards and unit owners or shareholders. She is proficient at drafting documents to commence collection of arrears, liens, and cease and desist letters. Her experience includes handling HPD violations, property management contracts, non-payment disputes, and evictions.
Before joining Cozen O'Connor, Sereena served as an associate at a boutique law firm in New York City where she focused on landlord-tenant litigation. Additionally, she contributed as a research assistant and editor for Friedman on Leases, published by Practising Law Institute (PLI). Sereena earned her B.A., cum laude, from the University at Albany (State University of New York) and her J.D. from New York Law School. During her studies, she interned with New York Law School's Nonprofit and Small Business Clinic, where she supported nonprofits and small businesses with entity formation, operating agreements, and tax issues. Sereena's dedication and achievements in real estate have been recognized with her selection as a WX Scholar in the esteemed WX - New York Women Executives in Real Estate Scholar's Program.
